Meditating in the Cafeteria

When I first started training in Jung SuWon, Great Grandmaster (and Dr.) Kim told us that one day, we would meditate anywhere, any time--even in the middle of a noisy crowd. I found that hard to believe, because anything other than total silence totally broke my concentration! But here I was, meditating in a busy cafeteria!

About a quarter to noon, I was in the cafeteria, waiting for my lunch appointment--who was running late. About 10 till noon, I suddenly felt the connection to universal life energy that GGM Kim awakened in me.

Internally, it was like a flow of positive energy from the universe. Externally, it was wide-screen awareness--aware of everything around me, simultaneously. The positive energy flowed through me, and projected outward. Life was grand!

I'm still looking for my next job, and time is getting short. So it's not like my life is totally perfect at the moment. But I've been writing about health and fitness, and programming, and golf. I've been doing what I was born to do, and at this exact moment, everything was perfect--just as it should be.

The feeling continued until a little after noon, when my lunch companion arrived. I would have been fine with an even longer delay, because I felt grand. And I was fine with the arrival, because it didn't break my meditation--I just focused more on the conversation for a while.

I had the feeling of connection with universal energy all afternoon, with multiple episodes of wide-screen awareness, awareness of positive energy from the universe, and gratitude for that energy. And of course, I had nothing but gratitude for the master who brought me to the fountain, and taught me to drink--Dr. (GGM) Tae Yun Kim.
